April Flowers...

Source
Spring is one of my favorite seasons!  I love watching the fields turn from sleeping brown to growing green and this time of year in Nebraska we get visits from the Sandhill Cranes as they migrate through back to Canada.  I love to hear them sing to one another and to watch them do their courting dance.
Here are some other facts about April, I received in an email that I found interesting:

April was the second month in an early Roman calendar, but became a fourth when the ancient Romans started using January as the first month of the year. The Romans called the month Aprilis, drawing its meaning from the Latin for 'To Open' or it may have been derived from Aphrodite, the Greek name for the goddess of love.

Diamond or Crystal is the Birthstone of April an Daisy and Sweet pea are the flowers of the month.

April is:
Cranberries & Gooseberries Month, National Card & Letter Writing Month, National Donate Life Month,
National Pet Month.

April 2nd is National
Love Our Children Day
April 7th is No Housework Day
April 13th is Scrabble Day
April 18th is Wear
Your Pajamas to Work Day
April 22nd is Girl Scout Leader Appreciation Day
April 26th is Hug a Friend Day

I don't know about you, but I am thankful for the 7th of April!  Of course, Mina gets confirmed in two weeks, so there is a WHOLE lot of cleaning happening here!
