Topical Tuesday

Today's topic: Time management. How do you fit everything into your day that has to be done? My extra time usually comes by trying to stay up too late to finish things. I then am tired the next day. I believe that is referred to as "burning the candle at both ends". I totally love to play computer games and that is a major time burner. I do it to help me relax, but then my obsessive tendencies take over and I don't know when to quit. I have made some changes, organizing my beads, making a list on a white board for the projects that I need to get done, and trying to do tidying up chores a bit at a time each day. How do you make your life fit together?

Stephanie, I guess I get my life to fit together by just keeping doing what I'm doing. I have come to realize that I love to be busy - but I complain about it. Now, that's just plain crazy. So, I am trying to look at "busy" in a more positive way. If I wasn't so busy, I'd find something to do to pick up the pace. I do love my quiet, down time too. Seems like quite a conflict - and sometimes it is. I guess when I'm charged up I'm ready to go -- and when I'm running down, I know to stop and recharge by doing things that nurture me. I figure that when God is finished using me - I'll stop!

Having said all that, I'm always looking for a better way to organize my life so I can spend my energy doing the things that nurture me (beading, reading, ministering to unmarried, pregnant couples, being a good friend, nurturing my family, serving in my church, going to my day job, etc.) and not trying to get out of ruts involving behavior/thinking patterns that just try to get me stuck.

Have a great weekend!
